Standards board for alternative investments

Standards Board for Alternative Investments (SBAI) is an industry initiative in which hedge fund managers, capital owners, and policy makers cooperate to develop and improve industry best practic (Alternative Investment Standards) and tools (Toolbox) on disclosures, risk management, governance and fund valuation. Brummer & Partners was one of the fourteen initiators and founders of the organisation, which today is supported by nearly 250 investment managers and capital owners around the world, with approximately USD 7tr in aggregated assets under management.

Principles for Responsible Investment 

The UN-backed Principles for Responsible Investment the PRI, has developed six principles which aim to assist investment managers and capital owners in integrating environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors to improve the management of risks and hence, returns. Brummer & Partners became signatories in 2016 in parallel to implementing responsible investment policies for the group’s investment managers. The PRI, launched in 2006, has more than 4,000 signatories based in more then 60 countries, and with aggregated assets under management of more then USD 120tr.

Alternative investment management association

The Alternative Investment Management Association’s (AIMA) purpose is to support its members by engaging with regulators and policy makers on regulations and directives, develop industry best practice (Sound Practice Guides and Due Diligence Questionnairs) on different subjects, such as responsible investment, to conduct research, develop educational and information material, and share insights, with the aim of improving industry knowledge and expertise. AIMA has more than 2,100 members with an aggregated USD 2.5tr in assets under management in over 60 countries.
